The Prahna Indian Grill

Indian, reimagined.

Hand-grilled tandoor classics, Scottish seafood and game, and afternoon chai brewed long. Tucked away in Corstorphine, west Edinburgh.

Prahna is the Sanskrit word for breath. Not the act of breathing, but the animating force that breath carries. The thing that turns air into life. That is what we are trying to do with food.

The recipes are ours. The land and its harvest, the sea and its catch, are Scotland's. We cook Indian food the way we were taught, with ingredients the Scottish seasons decide for us, at our award-winning restaurant in Corstorphine, Edinburgh.

Welcome to Prahna.

The lamb chops are some of the best I have eaten anywhere in Edinburgh. The dining room is warm and lit just right. We will be back.

Came for the afternoon chai and stayed for two extra pots. Quietly the most considered Indian meal I have had north of London.

Friendly staff, beautiful food, ordered the Malabar sea bass and the daal makhani, both worth a return trip from Glasgow.

The Raan a Prahna for our anniversary dinner was theatre. Carved at the table, soft as butter, finished by a tangy mint chutney. Booked again before the bill arrived.

Tucked-away gem in Corstorphine. Free parking on the street, no fuss, food that punches well above its postcode.

We hosted a 24-person engagement dinner here. Bespoke menu, attentive service, every guest left asking when we were going back.
